Matrix regurgitations

So the startup I work for claims that it employs a matrix organizational structure. The problems is no one actually knows aside from myself and the big boss. Even the line managers know shit about how matrix structures work.

And that’s pretty iffy if you’re the project manager (as in my case). I essentially have my own thumbs jammed up my bunghole trying to manage my project and have line managers who think and feel that I’m just there to produce Gantt charts and look cool during meetings.

And the really crappy thing is, we’re supposed to have a strong matrix structure which meant I have full authority over my project save for most of the HR crap. Oh sure, many would argue for a balanced matrix (“Absolute power corrupts absolutely”) but fuck that. I’m the only one who knows what he’s supposed to be doing.
